2 cars explode from inside in Sacramento, police say

Sacramento police are asking the public for help in solving two cases of homemade explosive devices going off inside of cars around the same area within the same week. Police said they found a severely damaged car near 20th Avenue and 32nd Street on Friday. They said it was very similar to officers discovering another car near the 4000 block of 34th Street on Jan. 23, where they found a car that had a homemade explosive device inside. Police believe both cars contained homemade explosive devices that detonated inside of the vehicles. No one was hurt from either explosion, police said. It is not clear if the two explosions are connected to each other. Sacramento Police Department are asking anyone with information to call 916-443-4357.
